Spain????

I have no idea what Spain is going to be like, I have been all over the United States but I have never been to Europe. I have had friends who have gone to Europe and the one thing they tell me is don't say anything too loud or offensive. I hope this is something I can remember. I think that I'm going to have a hard time understanding what people are saying in Spain, I notice I have that problem in the United States. People who speak Spanish primarily, speak Spanish very quickly and I have hard time following what they are saying. Hopefully people in Spain will realize that I'm learning Spanish and take it easy on me. I think that it is going to be very interesting my first couple of night with my host family, I think I'm going to be saying a lot of mucho gusto and hola, at least they will think I'm very friendly or polite.
My biggest fear about going to Spain is what is going to happen to my apartment and my cat. I live with my brother and he doesn't keep the apartment clean now so I don't know what is going to happen if I'm not in the apartment doing cleaning. I hope that my brother will be able to feed my cat, play with him and keep the apartment...cleanish. I am also a little worried about not knowing anyone on this trip, hopefully this will be quickly remedied and I'll make friends with people in the group.
I am very excited about going to Spain, being in a new culture, completely out of my element and not having to work for a month. The people I work with say that they'll miss me but I doubt they will, I won't be thinking about them while I'm in Spain. I just hope I can relax the whole time I'm there and just have fun, not worry about any of the problems I have back at home. I am really looking forward to this trip and I hope that I learn a lot of Spanish and when I get back, I hope I keep speaking Spanish.
